ALKA · AUSTRALIAN COATINGS MANUFACTURER

Protective coatings for energy infrastructure

Protection across the energy asset lifecycle.

MANUFACTURER SYSTEM GUIDANCE

Start with the application.

From tank terminals and process steel to power generation and renewable infrastructure, ALKA systems support atmospheric protection, maintenance and selected lining applications.

Explore the asset pages below for relevant coating builds, selection guidance and product information. Each page separates external protection, maintenance and specialist lining requirements.

SYSTEM SELECTION

Three routes to the right protection.

SystemWhy select itCoating buildTotal DFT
ALKA-9930
Premium External
Premium corrosion protection combined with a UV-stable, colour-retentive finish

Abrasive-blasted carbon steel; external industrial and coastal atmospheric exposure

Alka 404 zinc-rich epoxy primer → Alka 413 high-build epoxy → Alka 421 polyurethane finish250–300 µm
ALKA-9937
Severe Maintenance
Combines surface tolerance, high build and glass-flake barrier performance for demanding maintenance work

Prepared steel, galvanised steel, aluminium or stainless steel in difficult maintenance environments, subject to technical approval

Alka 418 MIO glass-flake surface-tolerant epoxy; one or two coats as specifiedNominal 250–600 µm depending on coat schedule
ALKA-9936
Chemical-Resistant Lining
Higher chemical resistance than standard epoxy systems for demanding process environments

Prepared steel or concrete in tanks, bunds, process areas and secondary containment

Alka Tanklin 100 and/or Alka Tanklin Chem system selected to suit the chemical service450–600 µm

DFT = dry-film thickness. These are nominal system totals; individual-coat thicknesses and application conditions belong in the final coating schedule.

PLAN THE SPECIFICATION

Define the duty before choosing the coating.

New steelwork

Match the primer, barrier and finish to the exposure. Include preparation, fabrication details and the required appearance.

Maintenance

Assess the existing coating and achievable preparation. Set repair boundaries and plan application and cure within the shutdown.

Linings & containment

Define the liquid or chemical, temperature, contact duration and substrate. Agree the complete lining and inspection schedule.

PRODUCTS & TECHNICAL DOCUMENTS

Go directly to the product information.

Read the published technical data sheets below, or open a product overview. Request the current SDS set and confirm the document revisions for your specification before procurement.

MANUFACTURER TECHNICAL SUPPORT

Turn the service conditions into a coating specification.

Send the asset, substrate, exposure and maintenance window. ALKA can help define the coating build, preparation and technical documentation for your review.

Discuss your specification

Use current product data and the agreed project specification. Industry imagery is illustrative and does not represent a completed ALKA project.
