Choose your coating contractor with the manufacturer behind the specification.
Tell ALKA about your project. We can review the coating requirements and introduce an ALKA Approved Applicator with relevant capability in your area, subject to availability.
Why choose a contractor through the manufacturer?
A good coating outcome depends on more than a product name. The substrate, exposure, preparation, compatible layers, application conditions and cure must work together. Starting with ALKA lets the manufacturer review the intended use and connect the project to an applicator who understands the relevant ALKA systems and their current instructions.
- A clearer system brief: ALKA can help identify the substrate, traffic, chemicals, washdown, weather and programme before a contractor quotes the work.
- Relevant applicator capability: referral considers location, experience, equipment, project type and availability. It is an introduction, with selection and contracting decisions still yours.
- Better coordination: the contractor can discuss preparation, product compatibility, mix, application and cure with the manufacturer when site conditions need review.
- Traceable installation: a documented scope, selected system and appropriate project records make later maintenance and any warranty enquiry easier to assess.
For a project already specified by an architect or consultant, send us the specification as well; ALKA can review product fit and help identify a capable applicator without replacing the designer’s role.
From enquiry to an installed system
Describe the project
Location, area, substrate, current condition, use, exposure, timeframe, photos and drawings help us triage the enquiry.
Match the capability
ALKA reviews the likely system requirements and, where network coverage is suitable, introduces an Approved Applicator.
Confirm the build
The applicator inspects site, quotes, plans preparation and records the approved build and installation conditions.
Some projects need moisture testing, pull-off tests, trial areas or a consultant’s design before final system selection. An introduction does not mean that an unseen site is automatically suitable for coating.
What “ALKA Approved Applicator” means
We use this term for businesses that have completed ALKA’s documented assessment requirements. Relevant review areas include business registration, applicable licences and insurance, coating experience, preparation equipment, ALKA product and system training, project records, quality control and customer communication. The network is reviewed against its criteria; acceptance and lead allocation are not automatic.
Approved Applicators know the conditions that matter for the selected products: substrate soundness and moisture, surface profile and cleanliness, compatible primers and topcoats, mix ratios, pot life, recoat windows, application temperature and cure. The exact requirements differ by product and project. Current technical data sheets and ALKA’s project advice must be followed; approval is not a substitute for a site-specific assessment.
Five-year ALKA manufacturer warranty
ALKA offers a five-year manufacturer warranty for eligible, documented ALKA coating systems installed by an ALKA Approved Applicator. Before you commit, ask ALKA for the written project warranty information: the covered system and components, start date, duration, scope, exclusions, claim route and any installation, inspection or maintenance conditions. Eligibility is confirmed for the particular project and is not automatic from an introduction alone.
The manufacturer warranty and the installer’s workmanship obligations are distinct. Your quotation and contract should identify the contractor’s workmanship commitments separately. Any rights under Australian Consumer Law may apply in addition to the voluntary warranty; the warranty does not remove those rights.
Clear responsibilities from the outset
| ALKA | Approved Applicator | Project owner or design team |
|---|---|---|
| Manufactures or supplies the specified system; reviews product suitability and technical requirements; confirms written warranty eligibility. | Inspects site, verifies conditions, provides quotation and contract, holds applicable licences and insurance, prepares and installs the system, records workmanship and handover. | Provides accurate use and exposure information, reviews scope and quote, confirms design and operating requirements, and follows agreed maintenance instructions. |
ALKA’s referral is not a guarantee of a contractor’s availability or every aspect of its workmanship. Confirm credentials, price, timing and contract terms directly before appointment.
Request an ALKA Approved Applicator
Send the site location, approximate area, current surface, intended use, operating conditions and target date. Photos of the surface, joints, drains and existing damage are helpful. Tell us whether you also need product selection, a written system schedule or warranty information. We will review the request and advise the next step based on project fit and local coverage.
Common questions
Can I use a contractor I already know?
Yes. Ask ALKA whether that contractor is an Approved Applicator for the relevant work and what is needed for this project’s system and warranty eligibility. Do not assume a referral or product purchase alone grants approval.
Does ALKA provide the quote and installation contract?
The applicator is responsible for its site assessment, quotation, licensing, insurance, workmanship and installation contract. ALKA can support product and system selection and confirm manufacturer warranty terms in writing.
Will every project receive five-year cover?
Eligibility depends on the specific system, use, documented installation and written warranty terms. Ask for project confirmation before signing the installation contract.
I’m a contractor. How do I apply?
Contact ALKA with service areas, licences and insurance, team capability, preparation equipment and completed project examples. ALKA will explain the assessment process.
Ready to find the right applicator?
Share the site and service conditions. ALKA will review your enquiry and advise whether an Approved Applicator introduction is available.
